Newcastle wave goodbye to 27-year-old

Newcastle United have struggled to assert their dominance on proceedings so far this season as they find themselves in a negative position.

The Magpies desperately need to improve as they could face the possibility of relegation to the Championship if they don’t find a solution quickly. Although, it looks as if Rafa Benitez has been focused on a departure, as according to Sky Sports, Henri Saivet has joined Turkish side Bursaspor on a season-long loan.

Newcastle midfielder Henri Saivet has joined Turkish club Bursaspor on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old returns for his second spell in the Turkish Super Lig, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Sivasspor.

Saivet has made just eight first-team appearances for Newcastle since joining from Bordeaux in 2016, so it comes as no surprise that Benitez has decided to wave goodbye to the midfielder for this season.

THE VERDICT:

The Magpies won’t be too fussed to see Henri Saivet depart on a season-long loan as he has failed to leave his mark on proceedings since joining the club.

Indeed, the Senegalese midfielder certainly wasn’t a part of Benitez’s plans this season as a permanent move away seems likely at some point in the future.

So, the Spaniard will be focused on seeing his side climb up the table after a poor start to their Premier League campaign.
