The best left backs or LB’s in the world are:

Marcelo Vieira (Real Madrid and Brazil):

10 years with the most successful club in Europe is not a feat everyone achieves and being the automatic choice in every game is a different achievement altogether. He has formed a strong pairing with Cristiano Ronaldo and the duo can wreak havoc on any defence in the world.

2. David Alaba (Bayern Munic and Austria):

He has bonded very well with Franck Ribery. His blistering pace, intricate passing and a fabulous left foot makes him one of the most complete players around.

3. Filipe Luis (Atletico Madrid and Brazil):

This Atletico guy has showed the quality and talent he possesses. His move to Atletico Madrid has seen him become one of the best in his position and is a vital cog in Diego Simeone's system. His composed nature and solidity are his biggest assets while he is an asset going forward too as seen by the number of assists he registers during a course of the game.

4. César Azpilicueta (Chelsea and Spain):

Antonio Conte's 3-4-3 system arguably changed the way football is now played in the Premier League, with a three man defence needing to be ever so efficient. César Azpilicueta has been one of star players for the Blues this season, excelling in every defensive position that he has been asked to play in.

5. Danny Rose (Tottenham Hostpur and England):

The England international has been a crucial part of Mauricio Pochettino's revolution at Tottenham Hotspur and has proved to be more than useful when called upon. Arguably the league's best left-back, he is mostly known for his pinpoint tackles and exceptional defensive work but he's not shy in front of goal either.

Benjamin Mendy was a revelation for Monaco, with his exceptional work rate making all the difference for a team playing with a high back-line. In his five Champions League appearances, he snatched the man of the match award three times.

I think Marcelo is the best left back now adays.He plays an important role in Real Madrid. He plays both defensive and attacking football. He takes balls from the dwfenders and runs on wings .He usually tries to create chances.Always he gives his 100%.I dont really sure is he defender or forward.When ever he got the chance he tries long ranger or other wise gives perfect crosses.He brings us more victories that is when ever he plays,we have the belief that we will surely win.Love u Marcelo

The Brazilians had the best left backs like Marcelo ,Filip Luis and right back like Dani Alves.

Marcelo was prime currently who can attack and defend at same time. No one is at his level
