UEFA’s Best Player 2018: What Salah said after Luka Modric won award

Liverpool ace, Mohamed Salah has said that he is ‘proud’ to represent Egyptians at the highest level in football after missing out on the 2018 UEFA’s Player of the Year to Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric.

Modric on Thursday won UEFA’s Men’s Player of the Year ahead of Ronaldo and Salah.

“When you do something for the first time, nobody has done it as an Egyptian before, something great, it’s something I have to be proud of,” Lifestyle News quoted Salah as saying after the award.

“There are 100 million Egyptians who see me as a role model.

“That’s something I have to be very proud of. Sometimes you feel pressured because of that, but it also makes you work harder to do your job better and better and better.”

Salah hopes to lead Liverpool to victory when they face Leicester City on Saturday in the Premier League.
