Mbappé named UEFA's 6th best player

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé has been named in sixth place in the UEFA Player of the Year 2017-18 ranking.

UEFA unveiled its three finalists for the award on Monday (Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah) as well as the players that completed the Top 10. The winner will be named on Thursday 30 August in Monaco as part of the UEFA Champions League draw.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has been nominated for UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year 2017-18, alongside Alisson Becker and Keylor Navas.

4. Antoine Griezmann (France - Atlético de Madrid/ESP) - 72 points
5. Lionel Messi (Argentina - Barcelona/ESP) - 55 points
6. Kylian Mbappé (France - Paris Saint-Germain/FRA) - 43 points
7. Kevin De Bruyne (Belgium - Manchester City/ENG) - 28 points
8. Raphaël Varane (France - Real Madrid/ESP) - 23 points
9. Eden Hazard (Belgium - Chelsea/ENG) - 15 points

Barcelona  goalkeeper  Marc-Andre ter Stegen  has urged fans not to forget about Leo Messi's teammates. Messi hit a hat-trick as Barca kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 4-0 win over  PSV  Eindhoven last night. Liverpool have been strongly linked with a move to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich this summer. “We never had any contact with Liverpool.
