EPL: Conte set to replace Mourinho as Manchester United manager

Antonio Conte has emerged as a strong favourite to replace Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager, CalcioMercato reports.

Conte is currently without a job, after he was sacked by Chelsea this summer.

As the Mourinho continues to battle unrest in the dressing room, the Italian is being viewed as a candidate for the Old Trafford role, if events take a drastic twist in the forseeable future.

Mourinho is at loggerheads with midfielder Paul Pogba and United would rather allow the Portuguese leave, than sell the player.

It is believed that Conte would be open to the idea of joining the Red Devils if the opportunity presents itself.

Chelsea manager has said Hazard didn’t follow his instructions in the first half of Chelsea draw against West Ham on Sunday. The blues 100% record ended on Sunday at the Olympic stadium with the blues manager claiming it is their worst match of the season. The blues manager speaking after the match said winger Hazard didn’t do what is expected of him in the first half but said he improved after the break particularly in the last 25 minutes of the match. When asked if Hazard followed his instructions the former Napoli manager replied saying “Not in the first half. Better in the second half. But today it was very difficult to play inside. They were cutting out very well every pass for Giroud, so we needed two wingers, I think. Chelsea  boss  Maurizio Sarri  admits he's made a decision over the club captaincy. For the moment,  Cesar Azpilicueta  holds the armband, but the manager says that could soon change. Sarri said on Friday: "I have my idea, I have decided. "But before telling you my decision I would like to speak to the players and the club. In this moment it's not possible so for the moment the captain is Azpilicueta. "I will tell you the final decision after I will be able to talk with the players and the club."
