BREAKING: Juventus star Ronaldo wins another award

Former Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has bagged another award after his goal was voted UEFA’s Goal of the Season for 2018.

The Portuguese fantastic overhead kick for Real Madrid against Juventus in the Champions League quarter-final was voted the best for the last season.

Ronaldo’s goal saw off competition from Dimitri Payet’s goal against RB Leipzig in the Europa Cup to win the top prize.

of good strikes but his bicycle kick at the Allianz Stadium remained his best of all.

"[It] was, in my opinion, one of the best goals of my career so far, he said.

"And, of course, when the people started to applaud me in the stadium I was like, ‘wow'.

"[It] surprised me a lot because this has never happened in my life, so it was an unbelievable moment."

Ronaldo has claimed 200,000 of the 346,915 votes cast on the official website of European football’s governing body.

Eva Navarro won the third best for her goal for Spain in the Women Under 17 EURO final win against Germany.

Messi won the award in its first two seasons before Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic in 2017.
