Top 5 Football Players right now: (20/3/2018)
Lionel Messi.
One word- Magic!
He is simply Magical. His touches on the ball, his passing, his vision, his accuracy, everything! This season under Mr. Valverde, he has dropped deep, but still his contribution is immense! His performance against Chelsea in the second leg was….well I don't have words to describe it.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo.
Same old, same old!
You (haters) kept criticizing him like every year, and he shut your mouth like every year. As of today, that 33-year-old has scored 37 Goals in 35 appearances, that's more than everyone in Europe! That simply is superhuman stuff!
3. Mo Salah.
The Egyptian King!
This guy has taken Premiere League by storm! He has more goals than the likes of SSergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Romelo Lukaku etc. Jurgen Klopp stole him for only £37.8 million! This was a huge bargain considering the amounts used in this transfer window.
4. Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian Maestro!
For many, the best player in Premiere League. It wouldn't have been an arguable statement if Mo Salah wasn't playing there. He's the Heart of Guardiloa's Manchester City. His runs, his passes, his everything is inch perfect! I don't think that City would have been this great without him.
5. David De Gea.
The Wall!
If it wasn't for him, Manchester United would have been 5th or 6th in the points table. How many extraordinary saves does he pull in one match? And who can forget those 14 saves he made against Arsenal earlier this season! After that match, one of the Arsenal fans said this in an interview- “David De Gea could save fucking Titanic man! I mean for fuck's sake, why is he that good!” And you wouldn't want to argue with that! Its not about just this season either, he gives us 10 points on an average every year. And, I really hope that he doesn't go to Madrid ever! He's of course The Best Goalkeeper in the World!

. David de Gea
The best Goalkeeper in the world(right now)
Last time he conceded more than 2 goals in one game was against Chelsea in October 2016.
His importance for United is incomparable, he single handedly saved Manchester United numerous times this season.
. Harry Kane
David de Gea of Tottenham(or vice versa)
Touted as a one season wonder , he has clearly shown the world that why he is the best striker in the world (right now). He topped 2017′s scoring charts ahead of Messi and Ronaldo , an achievement that looked almost unachievable not long ago. He is still getting better game after game and who knows he might break Messi - Ronaldo duopoly.
. Neymar
Hungry for money
Hungry for fame
I don't like him
But is one of the best in the game
. The Goat(s)
Many great players have embraced this beautiful game but never in its history anyone dominated the game like these Two.
10 years of total domination and still going strong.
Many will argue that Messi should be placed above Ronaldo but Ronaldo’s amazing form in UCL is the reason why he is still onot the top of the pedestal.
This may be the last season before someone breaks the duopoly but these two will remain icons for each and every football fan whether a Madridista or a Culé.

The top 5 footballers in the world right now, according to me are :-
5. Harry Kane - So much for calling him a 'One season wonder'. This man has exceeded all expectations and is consistently performing in the Premier League for Spurs….. even in the Champions League. He is surely in top 2, if not the world's best no. '9′. (Other being Suarez or sometimes Lewandowski)
4. Kevin De Bruyne - Surely the best Midfielder in Premier League right now and probably the best in the world, after a disappointing start of the season by Kroos and Modric, and age catching on Andres Iniesta. He has extraordinary vision and has lethal long range shots as well. Chelsea are surely missing him right now!
3. Mohammed Salah - The surprise package of this season. He has knocked down so many goals that it's not even a new story if he scores in PL matches again. Considering his transfer fees from which was around 30 million (I guess) it's turning out to be a hell of a bargain. Liverpool's best Goalscorer since Luis Suarez. Along with Firmino and Mane, probably the most lethal front three in Europe right now.
2. Cristiano Ronaldo - After a rather slow start to La Liga this season, Ronaldo is seeming to fire up his cylinders at the turn of the year. Champions League however is a totally different story, he has been in his best form there since the season he scored 17, scoring in 9 consecutive matches. With Real Madrid out of Copa Del Rey and La Liga seemingly lost, Ronaldo and Madrid will now put all their focus on Champions League.
Now for our 1st *drum rolls*
Leo Messi - After a rather disappointing season last year by his own high standards…. Messi just said one thing when asked about what his focus will be in the new season…. He said, “The focus now is to get back to winning everything.”
And boy has he kept his words….. Messi is dominating La Liga like never before, topping the charts in every aspect, Goalscoring, Assists, Key passes, chances created, most dribbles… hell he even has the most shots on the woodwork.
Singlehandedly he has dragged Barcelona 3 points in many matches. Scoring 3 free kicks in 3 consecutive matches…… Even scoring an all important away goal and breaking his duck against Chelsea.
What he said at the start of the season is coming true till now…. With Barcelona looking to secure Copa del Rey for the 4th consecutive season and snatching back La Liga from Madrid.
Champions League however is too early to say but Barcelona are surely on course for a record 3rd Treble and no surprises will be there if Messi drags Barcelona to it.
Edit 1- Damn 27 upvotes… my all time high haha…. Thanks guys!

As per the current season top 5 Footballers are:
Lionel Messi
Already in his thirties, Lionel Messi's eyes still show the same hunger.
Holding the top spot in both the goals and the assists charts is a fine testament to his claim as the best footballer at the moment.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Mohamed Salah
Kevin De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne has been the engineer behind Manchester City's swashbuckling brand of football. Frankly speaking, if this was a list of midfielders, the Belgian would have scooped the first prize by a mile.
Holding on to players like David Silva and Sergio Aguero is a crucial reason why the Citizens have succeeded in establishing themselves as a major powerhouse in the sport.
Harry Kane
Harry Kane might not have won enough silverware, but his performances on the personal level are too hard to ignore. The 24-year-old has achieved some incredible feats this season.
He scored more hattricks than Ronaldo and Messi in 2017 and also became the first player to overtake both of them in the Golden Boot race since Edin Dzeko in 2009.

Lionel Messi: He is 30, and he is still one of the best in the world. He proves himself each game and plays super football when it matters.
Cristiano Ronaldo: Started the season badly, but has recently picked up his game to play as he usually does and is a huge threat to the opposition every time he steps on the pitch.
Neymar: Oh he is a beautiful, beautiful footballer. The speed, the dribbling, the passing and the finishing - he does everything that any footballer wants to do. A future potential Ballon D’Or winner and super consistent - this guy is one of the best in the world.
Mo Salah: Is there any doubt? He’s brilliant, end of the story.
David De Gea: Had to include the best keeper in the world.
List complete.
Pls add subtract as you guys please, this is my opinion and I could be wrong.

A2A…thanks
I might sound conventional and a bit like a conformist (in this answer), but I can’t help it. Also, I’ll take this opportunity to add three extra. Please bear with that….
Lionel Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo
Neymar Junior
Luis Suarez
David de Gea
Robert Lewandowski
Eden Hazard
Kevin de Bruyne
I’m sure, any footballing opponent should dread the presence of any of these eight players on the field. Hope you do agree….

Lord Leo- The way he has been playing for the past many years and his present form makes him not only the best at the moment but the greatest of all times. Yes, Pele, Maradona, Best, Cruyff etc. were great but boy, Messi is really crossing every barrier. Making assists, scoring goals, taking players along with him, inspiring a country, a continent and phew! Ran out of adjectives and his skills.
CR7- The man has a wonderful eye for goal and that's about it!!
KDB- The kind of free flowing, creative soccer this guy is playing, it is just impossible not to include him in the list. A phenomenal midfielder!!
Busi- The kind of tactical awareness this guy has, it is impossible to have for anybody else. The best CDM of all times, I mean even the best in the past would struggle to have such an acute tactical understanding of the game.
And the last coveted spot goes to CHIELLINI. The freak stops almost everybody inside the box. He is tactically great, alert when to make a tackle and remains cool even under supreme pressure.

I am now making a list without the greats Messi and Ronaldo. As their legacy is immortal and will be present for ages to see, basically they have gone beyond world class level.
So now my list starts ,had to make very tough calls to omit some players like Kane and Lewandowski:-
Neymar.Jr
Kevin De Bruyne
Eden Hazard
Mohammed Salah
David De Gea
